What does a typical custom software project actually cost?
Most operational tracking systems (inventory, case management, field service, workflow automation) start under $10,000. More complex systems with multiple integrations, data migration from legacy systems, or enterprise-level requirements run $25,000 to $75,000+. We give you an exact number after the scoping call. No hourly billing, no budget creep.
Is there a contract for FSDM?
Month-to-month after an initial 90-day onboarding period. We don't lock you into annual contracts. If we're not delivering value, you should be able to leave. We stay because we earn it, not because you're contractually obligated.
What if I need something that wasn't in the original scope?
For project-based work, scope changes are handled with a written change order before any additional work begins. You always know what something costs before we do it. For FSDM clients, there is no scope. You call us when something needs to happen.
Do you offer payment plans for projects?
Yes. Most projects are structured with a deposit at kickoff, a milestone payment at the halfway point, and the balance on delivery. We can discuss other arrangements for larger projects.
What's the difference between custom software and FSDM?
Custom software is a one-time project. You get the software, you own it, we're done when it's delivered (unless you want ongoing support). FSDM is an ongoing partnership where we manage your entire technology operation. Some FSDM clients start with a custom software project, then move to the retainer.
